CPS Healthy School

Healthy CPS focuses on improving academic achievement by providing its students with daily physical education and nutritious foods. Healthy CPS believes to ensure that its students succeed in college, career and life by providing healthy foods and drinks on school grounds and offering physical activity throughout the day.
At least two-thirds of student's calories are consumed at school. Therefore it is imperative schools provide students with healthy foods and beverages to promote student nutrition and better learning.
It is recommended for children to participate in physical activity throughout the day. Healthy CPS goal is to provide students with 60 minutes of daily physical activity through physical education, recess and classroom-based physical activity in elementary schools.
We know that children will learn better when being active, reducing calories, and adding fresh fruits and vegetables to their menu.
